Dabbs named Director of Alumni Programs at Spring Hill College

Mobile, Ala. –  Sally "Scootie" Lambert Dabbs was named director of alumni programs at Spring Hill College on July 8, 2008.

“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to serve as director of alumni programs at Spring Hill College. This is an exciting time at Spring Hill and I am honored to be a part of it,” Dabbs said. “I have never met a more dedicated and committed group of alumni and I am looking forward to what the future holds for alumni programs.”

Dabbs joined the staff at Spring Hill College on July 6, 2005 as assistant director of alumni programs. She also serves on the lhughesistrative staff committee at Spring Hill and is the incoming chairperson for the 2008-2009 committee.

“Through her work with our alumni classes and chapter development during the past three years, Scootie understands the issues that interest and matter to our alumni,” said Ed Overbey, vice president for advancement. “She has a talent for keeping our alumni excited about the College and engaged in what is going on at Spring Hill.”

In addition, Dabbs volunteers with several local organizations including: the Young Professionals board for United Cerebral Palsy, University of Alabama Alumni Board, University of Alabama Alumni Association’s Mobile Chapter board secretary and golf tournament chair, American Cancer Society Chili Cook-off children’s area chairperson, Junior League of Mobile, MJLP solicitations chair, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Delta Omicron Chapter alumnae relations advisor.

Dabbs earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Alabama in 2000. Prior to joining the staff at Spring Hill College, Dabbs served as assistant director of admissions for her high school alma mater, West Nottingham Academy, in Colora, Md.
