Dr. Franco-Zamudio - Diversity Training at Airbus & Chamber

At the request of the Mobile, Ala. division of Airbus Americas, Dr. Jamie Franco-Zamudio, assistant professor of psychology at Spring Hill College, conducted diversity training in June with employees at the company's Brookley Field location. The training is part of a month-long global initiative at Airbus (http://www.airbus.com/work/why-join-airbus/diversity/).

Dr. Franco-Zamudio will lead a second diversity training at the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce on June 17. Victoria Bridges '14, one of Dr. Franco-Zamudio's industrial/organizational psychology class students, assisted with the Airbus training (Bridges attend USA's MBA program next year). Twarner Witherspoon '15 will help facilitate Tuesday's Chamber of Commerce training.

In the past, Dr. Franco-Zamudio has organized diversity training for the Public Relations Council of America, as well as the University of California Santa Cruz Neighborhood Assistants.

Dr. Franco-Zamudio earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University and her doctorate from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She teaches Psychology of Gender, Social Psychology of Social Justice, Personality Theories, General Psychology, Research Experience, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Social Psychology. She is dedicated to teaching for social justice, developing assignments intended to nurture students’ sense of responsibility, and encouraging advocacy.
